About NU Community Credit Union
Mission Statement
NU Community Credit Union is a non-profit financial institution owned and controlled by it's members for the purpose of helping members to achieve and maintain their financial goals by:
- Providing competitive financial services that meet the changing needs of our membership.
- Operating efficiently in a safe and sound manner that insures long-term financial stability.
- Maintaining a friendly and professional atmosphere with confidentiality.
Who are we?
Since 1977, our Credit Union has been chartered and governed by the PA Department of Banking. It is supervised and examined by the PA Department of Banking and National Credit Union Administration (NCUA). Deposits (shares) are insured up to $250,000 by the National Credit Union Share Insurance Fund (NCUSIF).
The NCUA is a federal agency whose chairperson is appointed by the President of the United States. The NCUSIF is the strongest federal insurance agency around.
Each year at the annual meeting of the Credit Union, the members have an opportunity to exercise control over the organization in the form of the election of officers. If you have questions or concerns, the staff and board members (pictured below) are always available to our members.
