Fight Identity Theft

Internet pirates are constantly finding new ways to steal passwords and other valuable financial information. One of the latest "scams" is called "phishing". They want account numbers, passwords, social security numbers & other confidential information so they can then use this to loot your accounts and/or run up bills on your credit cards. In the worst case, you could find yourself a victim of identity theft that not only could damage your financial history, but could also take years to unravel.

The good news is, you have the power to stop them.

Here's how:

  1. Never provide personal information, such as social security numbers, account numbers or passwords over the phone or internet if you did not initiate contact.
  2. Review your account statements regularly to ensure all charges are correct.

If you fall victim, act immediately! Report suspicious e-mails or phone calls to the Federal Trade Commision at www.consumer.gov/idtheft or by calling 1-877-IDTHEFT.

Remember, you are in control ... PROTECT YOURSELF!
